Hey there, future brides and grooms! If you're reading this, it's very likely that you're in the midst of wedding planning and are trying to figure out how many photographs your wedding photographer should deliver. Fear not, for I am here to guide you through this process and hopefully make it a bit less stressful!

First things first, there's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question. The number of photographs your wedding photographer should deliver depends on a variety of factors, such as the length of your wedding, the number of guests, and the amount of time your photographer spends with you.

Communicate, Communicate, Communicate!

However, as a general rule of thumb, most wedding photographers will deliver anywhere from 50-100 photographs per hour of shooting. So if your wedding is 6 hours long, you can expect to receive anywhere from 300-600 photographs. Of course, this is just an estimate and your photographer may deliver more or less depending on your specific wedding. I always tell my couple, if there are more exciting events during a banquet ( dance or games etc) , then you will definitely get more photographs than a quiet sit-down banquet.

If there are photographs of any particular person or items (maybe an Heirloom jewellery?) , make sure to let the photographer know in advance so they can act accordingly.

In the wedding questionnaire I send out to all my wedding couples, I even ask if there are any Guest dynamics I should be aware of - we sure as heck don't want to put an estranged parent together in the group photo! If communicated well, the photographer can be the lubricant to help you gently navigate some of your wedding day awkwardness.

Quality or Quantity

It's also important to keep in mind that quality is more important than quantity. You don't want to receive 1,000 mediocre photos when you could have received 500 amazing ones. Make sure you choose a wedding photographer who has a portfolio that you love and who you trust to capture your special day in the best way possible.

So What Does This All means?

At the end of the day, the number of photographs your wedding photographer should deliver is up to you and your photographer. Make sure you communicate your expectations clearly and don't be afraid to ask questions. Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event and you want to make sure you have beautiful photographs to remember it by. Happy planning!
