If you think you need a grand location for beautiful family photos… you really don’t.
This entire shoot with Alexandra & her family was done right in their condo’s public space — and honestly, it had everything we needed: soft natural light, greenery, open walkways, and space for a toddler to just be a toddler (which is the most important thing).
Why Condo Photoshoots in Singapore Just Work
Singapore condos are kind of underrated as photoshoot locations.
You get:
- Clean, aesthetic backdrops (without the crowds 👀)
- A mix of greenery + architecture
- Convenience (especially with young kids — no long travel, no meltdown risk)
For this session, we moved around different corners of the condo — shaded pathways, poolside areas, and quiet stairways — which gave us a surprisingly wide variety of looks without ever leaving the compound.
Natural, Candid Family Moments ( the good stuff)
The goal wasn’t stiff posing. It never is. It was about letting their little one explore, climb, and play. And capturing those in-between hugs and giggles. I always strive for gentle guidance instead of forcing smiles. You can see it in the photos — the laughter feels real because it is real. Kids don’t fake joy well… and honestly, we don’t want them to.
Colour Styling That Actually Works
They kept to a soft, coordinated palette:
- Whites, reds, and light neutrals
- Nothing too loud or distracting
This helps keep the focus on the connection between them instead of the clothes screaming for attention. Yes, this matters more than people think. That's why I created a Family Photoshoot guide for all my Family Session clients to educate them on how to get the best possible photographs with me =)
“But My Condo Isn’t That Nice…”
I hear this a lot.
Truth is — it’s not about having a luxury condo. It’s about having a photographer who knows how to find good light. A bit of greenery and clean space . And people who are comfortable being themselves. That’s it.
Want Timeless photos of your own family?
Family shoots don’t have to be stressful — especially with kids involved.
With years of experience photographing children and families (and plenty of animals too), I know how to gently guide sessions while letting moments unfold naturally. Being a female photographer also helps create a more relaxed, safe space — especially for mums and little ones.
