A hot sleepy afternoon ...
I met the lovely Serene and Patrick's beautiful little family last august at Lower Seletar Reservoir. With 3 young children in toll, an accessible location with good photo spots was required and I recommended Lower Seletar Reservoir to Serene. While the neighbourhood park is small, it has a lot to offer. Not only is it close to the train station, it also has public facilities like toilets, water cooler and a little water park for kids.
As usual, we were really worried about a rainy weather but it turned out to be an extremely hot and humid afternoon.

Let kids be kids ...
Having a family photoshoot can be difficult and stressful for the organising parent. There are a hundred and one things the parents have to consider, such as what to wear, where to shoot, what to prepare, how to manage the children's behaviour ON TOP of getting everyone ready and out of the house on time! Which is why I created a Family Photoshoot Guidebook for all my Family Portrait Clients so they know what to prepare and my working style with kids.
I am of the opinion that Kids should just be allowed to be kids. As much as possible, I will allow them to explore the environment and do whatever row their boats while I place the parents or older siblings around the younger ones to create the image . Anyone who has worked with young children before will tell you, it's close to impossible to force them to do something against their wishes so it's better to go with their flow instead.
The kids were all so sweet and adorable though! And the boys in particular, has one of the chummiest relationship I've ever seen. Just look at the pictures and you'll see how they are each other's best friend!
I was so excited to capture this set of photographs for Serene and Patrick. Serene really wanted some Mother and Daughter shots of them having fun while wearing matching Sarong Kebaya and I'm glad I was able to deliver it! Aren't they the cutest?
